Cambridge Hard of Hearing Club
About the group
We have about 35 members, with a regular turn out of about 24, just a couple of men at the moment. Our monthly meetings take the form of a speaker (china painting, birds of prey, flower arranging, fascinating fungus, costumier from covent garden, plus hearing matters – hearing dogs, doctor from Addenbrookes, aids for the deaf). Light refreshments follow, and a raffle. Batteries can also be replaced at the meetings. We also have at least one outing in the summer followed by tea and cakes, and our Christmas meal takes place at the end of November, with entertainment and a gift to take home.
Transport to meetings can be arranged for a small contribution (the group subsidises most of the cost). The room is fitted with a loop system, we also have our own portable loop, should that fail.
