Community Panel

Could you volunteer to join our new Community Panel? The Panel is a way you can share your views and opinions on issues relating to hearing loss.

Whether you have hearing loss yourself or are a family member or friend of someone that does, you can potentially get involved.

We are increasingly being asked to bring together groups of people with personal experience of hearing loss for research that is of local, regional or national importance. This is why we are setting up a Community Panel. You can apply to become a potential member of the group.

The Community Panel will be made up of a number of people we can contact across the UK 3 or 4 times a year.  It may be to complete a paper questionnaire we send to your home, an electronic questionnaire we email to you or a focus group of 8 to 10 people that we get together.  For those people that attend a focus group, travel expenses will be paid on request.

We believe your interests and experiences should be at the heart of decision making and that it should influence decisions made by health professionals, manufacturers and key partners within the hearing sector.  We will use the results of any research carried out through the Community Panel for that purpose and to help us develop our own services.

If you are interested in becoming a member of the Community Panel, all we ask if that you complete our short questionnaire to help us make sure we have a Community Panel that is representative of different people’s needs. We will regularly refresh the Panel as people leave or we identify new groups that should be represented.

If you wish to discuss anything relating to this opportunity, please contact enquiries@hearinglink.org or Tel/Text: 0300 111 1113 or SMS: 07526 123255.
