Scoping research for PHD – can you help?

Prospective PHD student Laura Turton is looking for individuals to support her with scoping research.

Laura, who is the Adult Audiology Manager at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, would like to speak to adults who do not want or cannot have a cochlear implant and the clinical care they are offered.

At present this varies across widely across the UK and she wants to use her research to support changes to the way in which people practice clinically. When she completed her Masters degree, Laura looked at the prevalence of severe to profound hearing loss and it was apparent at that time that very few people were researching in this other area.

Laura said: “To help me work out what this research might look like, I am looking to find out from the people who are effectively the experts.”

Laura has prepared a short document for prospective candidates to complete, which can be downloaded here. Once completed you may be contacted again, if you give permission for Laura to do so in order for her to ask more questions.

If you would like to support Laura’s research, please complete her questionnaire and send it to socialmedia@hearinglink.org.
