Tracy’s London Marathon moment

Tracy Clarke-WolfeTracy Clarke-Wolfe, who works with predominantly special education needs students, decided to fundraise for Hearing Link to raise more awareness of our services as we are ‘a very worthwhile cause’.

She has hosted a number of different fundraising events this past year from baking cakes to hosting fundraising nights at restaurants and scouting the area for raffle prizes. “What can I say; it truly was one the best days of my life! Definitely the most challenging too, but well worth it especially after overcoming an injury earlier on in the year with both my Achilles tendons suffering. Nevertheless after taking time out and resting until the 13th Feb before really cracking onto my Marathon Training Plan, I ran every other day adding a mile each time and overcame my injuries and went on to actually completing my dream and finishing the marathon in 4 hours 57 minutes.

“The day before I went though so many emotions it was really quite unbelievable. One minute excited, the next minute anxious and nervous in tears thinking could I actually finish.  It is true what they say the crowd, support from friends & family are what actually get to you the finishing line. I could not have finished without the amazing support I received from family and friends and I am overwhelmed with their generosity to donating towards a charity that is deserving of much needed support.  I thank you for giving me the opportunity to fulfil my dream!”
