Swindon Lipreading Group

About the group
We are currently a group of around twelve men and women of varying ages with varying degrees of deafness.
We began as a lipreading group but our teacher retired and so we are trying to keep together a group for our new teacher- when we find her or him!
Sometimes we have a ‘speaker’ but otherwise one of us talks about a hobby, or a holiday, or some other topic of interest – the aim is to include some ‘de-voicing’ so that our lipreading does not get too rusty. This talk lasts about half an hour and then we have a cup of tea or coffee (bring your own cup) and chat.
Meetings are a mixture of lipreading and information sharing.
New members are always welcome!
