Lipreading Awareness Week: 9th-15th September

Today is the start of Lipreading Awareness Week 2019, organised by the Association of Teachers of Lipreading to Adults (ATLA).

The week runs from 9th-15th September and is an opportunity to raise awareness of lipreading across the UK.

There are lots of free lipreading taster sessions taking place across the country during this week. Head over to the ATLA website for more information about where these are taking place near you.

ATLA is also encouraging supporters to take part in a lipreading challenge by holding a coffee morning, afternoon tea or work meeting wearing earplugs. Find out more by downloading their leaflet.

You can also search for a local lipreading class if you want to sign up for a full course.
