Yorkshire information day – a great success!

On Saturday 15th July we held our Hearing Information Day in Bielby, Yorkshire. Despite the impromptu rain showers, the event was a huge success with lots of wonderful people making the effort to attend.

We of course had our brilliant peer support volunteers sharing information on our wide range of personalised services, including our life-changing hearing dogs. We were also joined by our fantastic exhibitors Advanced Bionics, Speaksee, The Skipton Audiologist and the Association of Lipspeakers

A highlight of the event was holding our first ever Helpful Hours service, designed by our peer support volunteers. The special introductory session was on ‘How to get the most from your audiology appointment’ and it covered a range of tips, techniques and tactics to help boost your confidence when attending an audiology appointment. Special thank you to our peer support worker, Emmanuelle, who delivered this brand new service and shared lots of helpful advice and information!

We also held our ‘Have a go’ demonstration where participants could experience first- hand what it’s like to be alerted by one of our specially trained hearing dogs!
