New – Michael’s training update

Welcome to the first in a series of updates about our volunteer training and the opportunities that will be available for you to join.

Michael, our Training & Development Manager, will guide you through our progress and latest training modules to be available.

Peer support and Hearing Loss Community Days

Many of you have signed up for, or expressed an interest in, offering peer support at our Hearing Loss Community Days throughout the coming year. This is a new service with events held throughout the UK and one will be in your region. You can find where these events are being held over on our webpage.

To help you get Community Day Ready, we are running a series of online training sessions which will:

  • help you get to know more about the events
  • what to expect
  • who you will meet
  • how peer support can contribute even more for those we support.

You may have already received an email from me inviting you to the training , if not, and you are interested, please drop me a line – michael.britland@hearinglink.org

Safeguarding training

We are also running a series of Safeguarding Training for those who missed the last round and I will be contacting those who weren’t available last time.

Future training

On the cards for training in the near future are modules on Hearing Aids and Assistive Technology and I will be looking to you, our Peer Support Volunteers, for your input in developing these. If you have any thoughts now, please contact me.
