Videos – people talking about hearing loss

The six short videos on this page are of Hearing Link volunteers and associates talking about their hearing loss.

The first video features volunteers and staff from the Connect Hear Northern Ireland (Connect Hear NI) project.

The second three videos feature Emmanuelle Ding, Shona Hudson, and Tony Long and his partner Sue. These videos were premiered at the Royal Reception held at the Tower of London in June 2015. All talk about Hearing Link’s Intensive rehabilitation programme and Self management programme.

Says Professor Adrian Davis OBE, Public Health England’s Director of Population Health Science, “The narratives from these films are absolutely what’s needed to raise the profile of the issues that people have in respect to hearing problems and hearing loss. These films should be used widely to demonstrate what a key issue hearing problems are in the community, the impact that they have on lives and how Hearing Link and other professionals and experts can support people to find solutions for their communication problems arising from hearing loss.”

Videos five and six come from our Unheard Voices Project, where volunteers talk about acquired profound hearing loss – the impact on their lives and on their families, and their experience of Hearing Link’s Intensive rehabilitation programmes.
