Introducing Helpful Hours

We are delighted to announce the launch of a new service called Helpful Hours.

Helpful Hours are a series of 60-minute sessions, based on important hearing loss topics. Each session will include up to five segments to allow for several aspects of the topic to be covered. There will also be time for questions and answers at the end.

We will begin the series this autumn with bookable webinar sessions (see below for registration button).

How to get the most from your audiology appointment

The webinar, which has been carefully designed by our peer support volunteers, is called ‘How to get the most from your audiology appointment’.

Arguably the most important relationship you will have for managing your hearing is with your audiologist. So, if you would like to find out about a range of tips, techniques and tactics to boost your confidence, this Helpful Hour is a great place to start.

The five segments will cover: preparing for the appointment, planning your appointment, what to expect during the appointment, choices to make around hearing aids and technology and what to expect post-appointment.

Following the webinar, participants will be provided with a series of information sheets which cover the main topics covered, additional information and links to resources. This means you won’t have to concentrate on taking notes during the session – we’ve done it for you!

When will sessions take place?

The first online sessions will take place from October to December on the following dates and times (GMT):

DateTime
Friday 13 October11-12pm
Friday 27 October6-7pm
Friday 17 November2-3pm
Wednesday 6 December11-12pm

Please note: Each session will be the same content: ‘How to get the most from your audiology appointment’.

Or if you are planning to attend our Hearing Information Day in Buckinghamshire at the end of next month (29 September) our volunteers will be presenting sessions on the day.
