Dan to run London Marathon

Dan Harrison - London Marathon runner 2017Supporter Dan Harrison is running Virgin Money London Marathon in aid of Hearing Link.

He chose to run in support of our work across the UK because there is a history and acute deafness on his dad’s side of the family.

Dan only took up running long distances in late 2015 after being fueled by a desire to stay healthy and also to fight against a rare blood clotting disorder.

He will join thousands of other runners in the UK capital next April for his first go at the London Marathon.

Dan said: “My Dad’s side of the family have a history of deafness and acute hearing loss. I have to be very careful in noisy environments and, as a musician in my spare time, I wear hearing protection at concerts and in nightclubs as a precaution because I know the risks.

“Running in such a prestigious event as the London Marathon will be an extremely emotional and proud moment for me, and to be able to continue with my running to raise money for such a worthy cause makes it even more worthwhile.”
