Services update January 2023: Helpdesk, LiveChat and Helpful Hours

Helpdesk and LiveChat: Enquirers continue to get in touch in numbers. In December, despite a shortened service over Christmas, 77 people contacted us for help.

As mentioned in the presentation I shared in late 2022, our Central Support Advisors offer everyone who gets in touch a follow up to the response to see if it had been helpful and if there is another way we can continue to support them. This has led to a 1-1 Teams session to delve further into the initial issue, and has been a springboard to considering and applying for a LinkUp place, too.

This joined-up ‘pathway’ approach to our services has been popular and we’ll look to develop this in the coming months.

Helpful Hours: Thanks to everyone who has been encouraging and contributing towards the development of this service. Five volunteers are currently working towards a pilot version and we will getting ready for the review stage soon. The subject chosen is ’Getting the Most From Your Audiology Appointment’. It is a wide-reaching and deeply personal topic, so thanks to Julia, Katrina, John, Emmanuelle and Sylvia for your hard work and enthusiasm. More on this in the next newsletter!
