Services update January 2023: research opportunities

By Nicholas Orpin

Thanks to everyone who responded to the latest research opportunity before Christmas which was posted on the Teams Group for Hearing Link Volunteers.

Dr Alastair Moore, a Research Fellow at Imperial College London, got in touch: “I’m particularly interested in helping people to enjoy social situations in typically noisy environments, such as family meals in restaurants or meeting friends in a cafe.  In my current project, I have funding to work with end users to create something that not only works, but that people actually want to use and can be used by as many people as possible.”

The project is scheduled to conclude in the summer and we’ll keep you posted on progress.

BSL opportunity: We have been contacted by one of our partnerships in the west of England who works for a company looking for a sign language teacher as part of their Inclusion and Diversity Group. The teacher would be paid to deliver the classes, and we understand that this could lead to wider support of the charity too. If you are a sign language teacher and can deliver classes online, please get in touch for more information.
