Hooray for Community Days!

Benefitting from the warm weather and fitting nicely into the social aspect of our Hearing Loss Community Days; there were five held across the country in August.

Our volunteers, staff and beneficiaries enjoyed events in Lincolnshire, Suffolk, Bucks, Devon and Cheshire.

With dozens of people attending the different days, it was a great opportunity for everyone to engage in conversations around managing hearing loss with the peer support volunteers and professionals in the field.

Heather, a Partnership Instructors at the first Hearing Loss Services day in Exeter said: “After a lot of organising, it went really well with lots of information and resources shared, and some interest in how to apply for a hearing dog too. We had a Hearing Link Services stand, run by peer support volunteer Ailsa, two local audiologists, the Devon Sensory Support team, a lipreading teacher and an inventor!”

For more information and photos of the days, head to the Hearing Link Services Volunteer Teams channel and select Community Days.

Huge thanks to our colleagues in the Community Support Team for organising the days and to everyone for volunteering and making the days so welcoming…and helpful.
