How do you test balance?

There are three main tests for balance disorders.

1. Videonystagmography which is a test where a pair of video goggles record you eye movements in different situations but this information can help diagnose inner ear balance disorders.

2. Caloric test where each ear is stimulated with warm and cool water causing nystagmus and allows each inner ear to be assessed separately.

3. Posturography where you are required to stand on a platform and your body sway is recorded in different situations.
