Final Hearing Information Day of 2023 was a roaring success!

Wow, what a day we had last Friday. We held our final Hearing Information Day of the year, and it went better than we could ever have imagined.

Our sold-out event was packed full of attendees who were able to access information and resources about their hearing / hearing loss.

They could also speak to our peer support volunteers and experienced staff about how we can support them throughout their hearing journey, and find out more about technology and products to support them.

Special thanks to our exhibitors

Our range of guest organisations allowed us to host a truly remarkable event, and we couldn’t have done it without them.

Aston Hearing Services and Help In Hearing provided FREE hearing tests throughout the day, as well as providing valuable advice and support.

Buckinghamshire Adult Learning were able to answer vital questions, as well as advise on their ranges of accessible British Sign Language (BSL) and Lipreading classes.

Advanced Bionics, Phonak and Resound shared exciting details about their range of current hearing devices and how technology is rapidly progressing to improve the quality of life for those with a hearing loss.

Thames Valley Police Deaf Link Officer PCSO Steve Smith and PCSO Jennifer Shraga were on hand to provide vital and potentially life-saving information on how to access the emergency services across the UK as someone with a hearing loss.

We also had our incredible peer support volunteers present our Helpful Hour on “How to get the most from your audiology appointment.”

And finally, there was a chance to “Have A Go” and find out how our incredible Hearing Dogs, alert deaf people to important sounds in their homes.

We’d like to thank everybody involved in making the day a huge success including our wonderful volunteers and guest organisations! And we hope our attendees enjoyed the day as much as we did!

Don’t forget our Community Days!

If you missed out, don’t worry! We host multiple Hearing Loss Community Days across the UK throughout the year. These are free events and open for anyone and everyone to attend.
