New NHS appointments website planned

A one-stop NHS website where patients can book appointments, order prescriptions and access medical advice is to be launched next year.

The Guardian reports that patients in England will also be able to register with a GP, check symptoms and access their medical records online.

Visitors to the website will also be able to compare how well their local health service performs against other areas.

The new service is expected to launched at the end of next year and should help to improve accessibility for patients with hearing loss.
